Introducing five frames

This week we are having a ball learning all about five frames! I created these game boards to give the students some practice during center time. They take a sports ball five frame card and look at the five frame, then they look at the game board to see if the number on their card is on the spot they need to move to. If there is a match they move ahead, if not, another player takes their turn. They really liked the games! I was thrilled to see them grasp the concept so quickly and enjoy playing the game. I thought it would take a little more time for them to figure out the concept. It looks like it will take much more time for them to work out how to wait for their turn :)
The gameboards are included in my Five Frame file on TPT for only $2.00.

Owls in the tree

We have updated our tree with owls! We made these adorable owls by taking close-up shots of the students' eyes and sticking them on a painted paper plate...and added feathers of course! It was fun to watch parents try to figure out which owl was their child! It was harder than you might think...
