Kindergarten Water Table Makeover
In my classroom there is a giant built-in water table. I'm fairly certain that the designer of this table was never a teacher. It's huge! It takes up too much precious floor space, and it's too deep! The little ones can't even reach into the middle of the table, so they are constantly soaked.
I decided I needed the table to function as another center instead of just wasting space when water is "closed". I came up with a board that my hubby cut to size for me. I painted it green and covered it with plastic to create a dry-erase center. The plastic is vinyl table-cloth covering that I found at a housewares store.
It's been a couple of weeks now and the kids and I are loving it. We use it everyday! Aside from writing and drawing, they often create roads and tracks for cars, but it has also been used for creating a zoo layout for our plastic animal collection! So many ideas...so little time!!
